The Down Syndrome Guild (DSG) of Southeast Michigan invites you to join us for another fantastic Buddy Walk!
Thank you for visiting the website for our 5th Annual Buddy Walk!
We are the Down Syndrome Guild (DSG) of Southeast Michigan.
The Buddy Walk was developed in 1995 by the National Down Syndrome Society to bring together a wide range of concerned individuals to reach out to friends, family, co-workers and members of their community.
In addition to the DSG’s goal of promoting acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome, the Walk is our organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
The money raised will support all of the programs that the DSG offers including:
• Scholarships for use in therapy, education, recreation or medical needs
• Bimonthly newsletters
• Monthly speakers
• New parent welcome and information packets
• Various yearly social gatherings such as our summer picnic and holiday party
• And much more
This website will allow you to register for the Walk in several ways: you can start a team or register as an individual supporting a team or register as an individual supporting the DSG. If you are unable to join us on the day of the Walk you can register as a "virtual walker" and simply make a donation in support of DSG or your special buddy.
The Buddy Walk will be held again at Kensington Metropark in Milford on Saturday, October 3, 2009.
Registration will begin at 9am and the Walk will begin at 10. Following the Walk we will have carnival games, music, clowns, bouncers and more.
Be sure to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy following the Walk.
